Thursday high school football is a fun Public League tradition, but the heat has ruined it for today.

Chicago Public Schools called off today's games due to the excessive heat in the city. No word yet on when they will be played.

CPS postpones all outdoor events for the second straight day because of the NWS heat advisory. That includes 10 varsity football games. No word on rescheduling, which could be tricky if officiating crews are committed to other games Friday and/or Saturday. Just guessing, games may be pushed to Sunday or even Labor Day? We’ll see.
