2026 Endicott Season Review using @PEARatings

The season ended one win short of a national championship, but what Endicott accomplished in 2026 stands as one of the most impressive runs in Division III baseball.

The Gulls finished 44-14, captured the CNE Championship, reached the NCAA Division III National Championship Series for the first time in program history, and ultimately finished as the national runner-up.

According to PEARatings, Endicott closed the year ranked #5 nationally in TSR, #5 in Pythagorean Win Percentage, #12 in RQI, and #13 in NET while posting an 11-7 record against Quad 1 opponents. From start to finish, they proved they belonged among the nation’s elite.

What made this team special was its balance and, more importantly, its ability to rise in the biggest moments. Offensively, Endicott averaged 8.66 runs per game and posted a .414 OBP, constantly applying pressure and forcing opponents into high-stress innings. The identity of this team went far beyond run production though.

On the mound, Endicott developed into one of the most efficient pitching staffs in the country. The Gulls posted a 3.46 ERA while ranking #7 nationally in strikeouts per nine (9.1) and #8 in strikeout-to-walk ratio (2.62). They also finished #7 in fielding percentage (.975), creating a complete defensive foundation that allowed them to consistently control games. In high-leverage moments, their pitchers repeatedly limited damage, attacked the zone, and trusted the defense behind them.

What truly defined this Endicott team was its response to pressure.

Facing elimination throughout the NCAA Tournament, the Gulls delivered offensive outbursts of 19 runs, 12 runs, 4 runs, 11 runs, and 3 runs. Every time their season was on the line, they responded with urgency and execution. That resilience carried all the way to the National Championship Series, where Endicott forced extra innings in back-to-back championship games against Denison, pushing the No. 1 team in the country to the limit.

Endicott finished as one of the final two teams standing out of nearly 400 Division III programs and established a new standard for what Endicott baseball can be.

The final result may not have been the one they wanted, but the legacy of the 2026 Gulls is clear: elite balance, relentless competitiveness, and a program-defining postseason run that will be remembered for years to come.
