I was very naïve. But I recently learned a close friend of mine had relied on food banks for a year and had to choose between their pension and having the money to buy food. Even then, it wasn’t enough.

We’ve gone from being heroes to being verbally and physically abused by patients in the ED waiting room because of things like wait times.

We are trashed in national newspapers and politicians sell us out constantly.
