Forty-two years ago today, Terry Fox began his Marathon of Hope. He was just a kid with a dream and a plan. Too many of us dream, but don’t plan. Or plan and don’t take the first step. Maybe today will be different.
“I’m very concerned that our society is much more concerned with information than wonder, in noise rather than silence. How do we encourage reflection? … Oh my, this is a noisy world.”
@kibblesmith When Kevin in Home Alone 2 says “Why not, I’m not driving.” to a second ice cream scoop by the hotel room service. I say it for basically everything…

I feel bad for educators who can’t find anything to laugh about daily. Yea, our job is tough, but man, when I reflect over my days, kids, and adults alike, do some of the weirdest, funniest stuff. 😂 If you can’t find anything throughout the day to make you smile, look harder.

@OCJHSS @theloudlady I think choice of texts is the critical element. I would never advocate being a slave to the canon, but thinking a book can’t teach us something just because it was taught “when we were in school” is equally problematic. I don’t disagree BNW is a tough slog at times.
