A 2,000-year-old fig was recently unearthed at Drumanagh, a promontory fort in North Dublin. Archaeologists believe it proves trade with the Roman Empire. The excavation also yielded other Roman-era artefacts, including metal and ceramic items from Spain, Gaul, and Roman Britain.
High status people in ancient Dublin had access to Roman foods like figs and olive oil and even used imported glassware. The findings were made by the UCD Ancient Foods research team, led by Meriel McClatchie , and @Fingalcoco archaeology department.
“The drones would come down and pick off civilians – children.”
A former NHS surgeon, Nizam Mamode, who spent a month working in Nasser Hospital in southern Gaza, broke down while testifying about children in Gaza being shot by drones.
You know Israel is seriously losing the PR war when even Guardian columnist George Monbiot wakes up to what's been staring him and the rest of the Guardian staff in the face for a year: that Israel is deliberately executing children in Gaza.
BREAKING:
🇫🇷 🇮🇱 Diplomatic incident between France and Israel
Israel arrested two French gendarmes in a church
As French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot was visiting Jerusalem, Israeli armed police entered the Eleona church site, which France has claimed as its own since 1948, and arrested two French gendarmes 👮 👮♂️
French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot was forced to abandon his scheduled visit at the Eleona Domain calling the incident unacceptable.
He was obviously very upset with Israel taking over French areas of responsibility in Jerusalem. It's not going down well.
Retired Jewish professor Haim Bresheeth, a child of Holocaust survivors and founder of the Jewish Network for Palestine, was arrested under a UK anti-terrorism law after speaking at a recent Palestine solidarity protest in London.
I am so profoundly touched by this expression of support from Jewish organisations worldwide.
The minions out there will be livid. Let's stay strong, altogether.
"There is no intention of allowing the residents of the northern Gaza Strip to return to their homes" - IDF
Clearing out one ethnic group of people to replace them with another.
The very textbook definition of ethnic cleansing.
What more will it take for you to speak out?
Astonishing. It's now being reported that Netanyahus office leaked and fabricated documents to undermine CEASEFIRE negotiations & release of hostages
Yet, for 1 year, the US repeatedly said that Israel was ready to sign a deal & it was Hamas refusing
No one can say they didn't know. No one can claim blindness to this suffering. No one can pretend their ears did not hear the cries of children.
But when it's over, and history books are written. Those who were silent or celebrated this, will say to their grandchildren: "Wasn't that a tragedy" "We had no idea of the horrors" "We never supported it"
"Had we known what was happening....".
Well technology has given us one wonderful tool: information. History will no longer be written by the victors, but the people of Palestine who documented and recorded every aspect of their torture and annihilation. Who documented and recorded this for the world to never forget, to expose silence as support and to make sure their plight will be told in one way, and one way only: the truth.

Why are bananas so deadly? How has the US military suppressed China's covid vaccines? What should our rivers actually look like?
Few of the big questions we face today have straightforward answers. The reality is, it’s complicated.

An @UNRWA office key to delivering services to over 14,000 Palestine Refugees in Nur Shams camp #WestBank was severely damaged by Israeli Forces on Thursday.
This disregard of @UN facilities must stop. They must be protected at all times.
What are we even talking about here?? When I think about my kids and my family and how they will grow up, the choice is clear to me. VOTE KAMALA HARRIS!!!
Starvation levels have sharply risen in southern Gaza.
No aid/ food/ goods/ supplies allowed into the strip over the past three weeks.
People remain nights and days without food. People are desperate for a loaf of bread or one vegetable.
The blocking of aid organisations and the forced halt to Takias(Where people can get free food) have cut the lifeline for 2 million people starving at the moment.
I met Irish Rail this morning along with Peter Horgan, my colleague on the Progressive Alliance on #CorkCC.
