When I was sworn in four years ago, I was not given a magic wand that day to solve every problem.
I was given a unique opportunity as the 48th Governor to help solve problems, help bring people together, and get stuff done.
We have more work to do — it'd be an honor to have your vote for reelection.
Great day in Centre County with @GovernorShapiro

New: Spoke w/ PA Gov. Josh Shapiro after his keynote address on AI in Pittsburgh
“When the CEO says, ‘I can’t control what I’ve built, & what I’m building could destroy humanity,’ that’s not time to kick the can down the road.”
https://t.co/lRjcstcq3c
Today, I stood before CEOs, researchers, and AI experts in Pittsburgh with a simple message: We need to take action NOW to rein in AI technology and regulate it at the federal level.
Think about it: We don’t let pharmaceutical companies develop drugs and put them right out on the market, they must go through the FDA to prove they’re safe and effective first. And the FAA sets strict standards that every airplane must meet before passengers can fly on it. AI shouldn’t be treated any differently.
With the online discourse on your feed over the weekend about the dangers of AI, I want to be clear: the future of a technology this powerful should be shaped by YOU — not CEOs who are more concerned about their bottomline than the impact this technology is having on our communities.
We can’t kick the can down the road anymore. We need strict guardrails on this technology, its development, and its deployment in the real world. And every single one of us has a role to play in that effort. We can lead the way here in Pennsylvania.
Here in Pennsylvania, we carry a special responsibility to remember 9/11.
And our remembrance must be active — we must continue to honor the memory of those killed on that tragic day. To tell the story of Flight 93 again and again, for every generation born after, and to honor the ordinary Americans whose extraordinary acts of bravery we carry with us still today.
To honor the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, I joined the loved ones of heroes aboard Flight 93 in Shanksville to unveil the final sign on the Pennsylvania portion of the 9/11 National Memorial Trail — connecting the sites in New York City, Virginia, and Shanksville. Spanning 1,500 miles, this trail provides people with another way of remembering that day, the people who died, and the American spirit they inspired.
I’m grateful to the leaders at @911trail, DCNR Secretary Dunn, and PennDOT Secretary Carroll for coming together to make this happen — and may the memories of the victims forever be a blessing.
25 years ago, an ordinary field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania became hallowed ground, consecrated by extraordinary acts of bravery by 40 passengers and crew on board United Flight 93. Their collective actions embodied the American spirit, and this morning, I returned to the @Flight93NPS Memorial to honor their memory and ensure we never forget.
The 40 heroes who summoned the courage to stare evil in the face and fought back prevented even more death and destruction on one of our nation’s darkest days. They weren’t soldiers trained to fight in war or first responders prepared to run towards danger.
They were ordinary people who woke up on a Tuesday morning in September, kissed their loved ones goodbye, and got on a plane to go to work or visit family — just like millions of Americans do each day.
They were ordinary Americans who ultimately did an extraordinary thing. They embodied the essence of the American spirit — true courage, a belief in one another, faith in their country, and a commitment to something greater than oneself.
This afternoon, I also had the chance to spend time with some of their family members, remembering those 40 souls. We will never forget their loved ones' heroism and sacrifice. We will never forget what happened on September 11, 2001.
May their memories be a blessing.
LEBRON IS COMING TO PHILLY.
By the power vested in me as the Governor of the great Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and a die-hard Sixers fan... I hereby proclaim today to be LEBRON JAMES DAY.
Welcome to the City of Brotherly Love, @KingJames.
The U.S. Constitution gives states the primary authority over election administration. Here in Pennsylvania, the Department of State works with our county partners to administer fair, free, safe, and secure elections.

.@GovernorShapiro: "Whether it's at the pump, the grocery store, your health care, our farmers — everybody's getting screwed by Donald Trump's higher costs... every time I put $1 back in somebody's pocket, Donald Trump's policies rip $2 out the other one."
🚨WATCH: @GovernorShapiro SLAMS Trump's conspiracy thoeries on @Morning_Joe:
"It was an unfortunate day for America to have really an unhinged President in the White House spewing a whole bunch of conspiracy theories that are just simply not connected to reality."
📃 PROPOSED: More funding to support the schools that need additional resources most.
✅ SECURED by @GovernorShapiro: A $565 million increase through the bipartisan adequacy and tax equity formula – for a total of $1.9 billion driven out to the schools that need funding most.
BREAKING: I just signed my fourth consecutive balanced, bipartisan budget into law — building on the progress we’ve made to invest in our schools, grow our economy, expand our workforce, cut taxes, and so much more.
As I sign this — the final budget of my first term — into law today, I’m more confident than ever that these commonsense investments will keep our Commonwealth on the rise.
