NPS: America's Independence Day Parade, scheduled to start on July 4 at 10:30 a.m. near the National Mall has been canceled due to extreme heat.

Bit of intensity in that line coming together to the west. I-81 corridor from Front Royal, VA to Hagerstown, MD should be ready for some heavy downpours and the threat for some gusty winds. No warnings just yet, but wouldn't be shocked to see one go up for part of this line.

Still officially under a marginal risk for severe weather in the Mid-Atlantic Wednesday, including a 2% tornado risk. Latest GRAF run shown below.

Around the DC area though, I think storms are probably going to struggle a bit....

Wednesday is an interesting one in the DC region. Deepening wave passing over the DC region. Morning round of showers seems likely, but several models show afternoon destabilization and a round of severe storms. Many times this second line struggles though. Marginal risk for now.

🌸CHERRY BLOSSOMS🌸It's officially spring which means it's also cherry blossom season in the DC region! With the trees nearing peak bloom, people came out to the Tidal Basin to experience the beautiful cherry blossoms.

Generally a pretty quiet weather week in the DC region. Chilly Tuesday ahead, but warming through the midweek likely gets the cherry blossoms to peak bloom. Warmest day looks like Thursday, then some Friday showers ahead of a cooler weekend.
