@RichardWei138 Yes @RichardWei138 - many sea cucumbers are fished and exported from Australia, and around the world, including CITES and IUCN-listed species.
Australia makes a BIG decision for endangered and CITES-listed black teatfish (Holothuria whitmaei). Harvest and export from the Great Barrier Reef not permitted! A rare movement to protect at-risk invertebrates on our coral reefs #seacucumber#fishery#conservation#proud

Is something MISSING from your life? Could it be the complete guide to coral rubble dynamics?? This started as lil lit review ~7 y ago to convince @petemumby to take me on as a student, & it’s morphed into this beautiful beast! https://t.co/sMYYYZNHiA
My all-time favourite #seacucumber, Thelenota ananas, now listed on #CITES II. Sea cucumbers are slow and highly susceptible to #overfishing. We need global recognition of their importance in marine ecosystems to secure their futures.
Sea cucumbers have an extremely peculiar defense mechanism. When feeling threatened, they can contract their muscles and throw some of their internal organs at their enemies. Not to worry, they can quickly regenerate them later. How dramatic is that?
