The second is not an absolute none of the Bill of Rights are. When Constitutional values come into conflict with each other, rights have to be negotiated against each other.
There are two parts to the establishment clause of the Constitution, and both protect us from the government. The first says that the government cannot establish laws that are based upon religion. The second allows us to exercise our religion freely.
The first means that if someone tries to pass a law that is based upon a particular religious understanding (for example prohibiting homosexual practice), that's unconstitutional.
Last August, I lost over $2000 to Icelandair because of a medical emergency that happened at the gate before our flight. This month, I had a chance to buy an Icelandair ticket. It actually came up as the least expensive. Hard pass. I will never fly @Icelandair. #feelingscrewed
