The mistake our Western Kenya brothers and sisters are making is to be misled by political rejects on matters of leasing the sugar factories to private investors with proven record of performance in the agribusiness.
Take Nzoia Sugar Company for example. Just a few Kilometers away is Naitili Sugar Mills that pays farmers weekly for cane delivered. and makes huge profits as opposed to Nzoia that year in year out has to run to the government for financial assistance.
This, I must say is golden opportunity for the people in that region to benefit from the sugar farming enterprise with a government that is ready to take the bull (cartels) by the horns for their benefit. The coffee, tea and dairy farmers have benefited from reforms initiated and implemented by this government. I pray that the people in the sugar growing region will see the light for the sake of their economic prosperity.
Rigathi Gachagua Wamunyoro cannot stop admiring H.E President William Ruto. Next Time He shall call himself Kasongo, Marry a Kalenjin and return to school to get a Master's and PhD. It’s sooo declassified!
The state visit by President Alexander Stubb of Finland reaffirmed Kenya’s strategic push to transform its education sector under the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda, with a focus on equity, innovation, and employability.
Finland committed to deepening its support for Kenya’s education reforms through joint efforts in curriculum development, teacher training, vocational education, and digital inclusion. This partnership directly strengthens BETA goals by expanding access to market-relevant skills, boosting digital learning in rural and informal settlements, and bridging the education-to-employment gap.
Finland is globally respected education model, especially in TVET and sustainability, is expected to enrich Kenya’s CBC rollout, enhance teacher capacity, and equip youth with practical skills aligned to emerging sectors such as green energy, ICT, and healthcare.
CS @HonAdenDuale having been an MP understands the grassroots needs, related closely with the common mwananchi and knows exactly what is needed for UHC to be achieved in Kenya.
He is handling the @MOH_Kenya is not what most of you envisioned! There’s no more Noise on SHA, he has fully addressed the hiccups that were initially reported and the Taifa care is now fully operational. Give credit where due! SHA under CS Duale is a game changer!
This morning, I had the honour of joining Principal Secretary Dr. @Kiptoock during the official handover of the Committee of Experts’ final report on unlocking long-term domestic capital for national development. The report presents a comprehensive roadmap to deepen local financial markets by mobilising capital from institutional investors such as pension funds and insurance schemes. Central to the recommendations is the establishment of the PPP Implementation Trust Fund (PPP-ITF), envisioned as a dedicated mechanism to pool and channel domestic capital into viable PPP projects aligned with national development priorities.
As Director General of the Public Private Partnerships Directorate, I welcome the bold and strategic thinking captured in the report. Enhancing local investor participation in PPPs is timely and essential to building a sustainable, resilient financing framework for Kenya’s economic transformation. I commend the Committee for their exceptional work and reaffirm our Directorate’s readiness to provide the technical leadership required to translate these recommendations into action.
They are used to saying, ooh public participation was never done, Mara it was not properly publicized ama ilifanywa china maji. Transparency is the norm!
#FinanceBill2025 is already uploaded, don’t accept to be misled. Jisomee, toklezea for Public Participation let your voice be heard. This time there’s no Tax. Amkeni! participate ndio m educate wale wanaleta propaganda.
The Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda has placed micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) at the heart of Kenya’s national growth strategy.
By recognizing MSMEs as drivers of job creation, innovation, and community-level economic dynamism, the @WilliamsRuto ‘s government is rolling out the MSMEs Policy 2025 to institutionalize support for informal and small-scale entrepreneurs. Through targeted interventions such as County Aggregation and Industrial Parks, upgraded jua kali workshops, and innovative financing tools like the Hustler Fund and Credit Guarantee Scheme, BETA is dismantling historical barriers that hindered enterprise growth.
The policy reflects a deliberate shift toward inclusive development, ensuring that Kenya’s transformation begins at the grassroots and scales upward into national prosperity.
The BETA Plan has systematically embedded MSMEs into Kenya’s strategic value chains, ensuring they participate meaningfully in national economic transformation. Through the MSMEs Policy 2025, structured sectoral interventions have opened new enterprise pathways, from the distribution of subsidized fertilizer and sunflower seeds in agriculture to direct engagement of jua kali artisans in the Affordable Housing Programme.
Over 152,000 youth have transitioned into digital micro-enterprises through the Jitume Digital Labs, while healthcare procurement reforms have enlisted more than 1,700 MSMEs in manufacturing essential hospital supplies. Equally, the policy promotes inclusive enterprise development by allocating KSh 7 billion to youth and women-led businesses, formalizing over 200,000 MSMEs, and reserving 30 percent of public procurement for marginalized groups. This deliberate integration into key sectors reflects a government-wide commitment to equitable growth and economic justice.
Kenya is open and ready for business.
We urge the Kenya European Union Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) Council to explore innovative ways to address current and emerging barriers to unlock the vast potential of Kenya-EU trade.
On our part, we are implementing pro-trade policies with the goal of building a competitive, resilient economy, strengthening mutually beneficial partnerships, and fostering inclusive wealth creation and generating opportunities.
Attended the Second Edition of the Kenya-EU Business Forum in Nairobi, where we launched the European Union Chamber that aims to deepen Kenya-EU private sector collaboration.
A hooligan inthe name of a governor. This is how Kenyans are hoodwinked by politicians. You can imagine how many evils they commit and blame them on the President.
Shame on you @HonKangata
The @WilliamsRuto ‘s government cares for each and every Kenyan, and the Persons with Disabilities Bill, 2025 is living proof of that commitment. This landmark law introduces a comprehensive, rights-based framework to ensure that persons with disabilities are not left behind in Kenya’s journey of progress. It boldly expands the legal definition of disability, affirms the full legal capacity of all individuals, and mandates inclusive access to education, healthcare, employment, justice, and political participation.
From enforcing accessibility in public buildings and transport to requiring a 5% employment quota in the public sector, the law responds directly to the lived realities of millions. It also establishes a National Disability Fund to support innovation, awareness, and economic empowerment.
This is a global achievement that should be in all news channels. But problem is that we focus more attention to politics of blame game than celebrating milestones like this one. Being the first in the world is no mean achievement. Congratulations to our doctors.
JUICY NEWS!
President @WilliamsRuto yesterday signed the long-awaited Persons with Disabilities Bill, 2025 into law, finally answering the cries of millions who have lived in the shadows of broken promises and outdated laws.
For years, children with disabilities stayed home while others went to school. Wheelchair users watched from the sidelines as buildings remained out of reach. Job seekers were shut out not for lack of skill, but because of stigma and poor policies.
This new law changes the game. It replaces silence with action, neglect with enforcement, and outdated thinking with a bold, inclusive vision. It forces counties to act, demands accessible public spaces, embraces modern tools like assistive technology, and gives persons with disabilities a real seat at the table. Kenya Kwanza government has finally passed a law that sees, hears, and stands with its most overlooked citizens.
Opposition after clashes in Narok:
“Ruto will never go to Maa Land. They will chase him away…”
Gachagua in Maa Land:
“Maasai are gone. They can’t support Ruto. Ruto should forget their support”
This was the same Ruto in Narok yesterday, the same ward where clashes were witnessed. He not only met all the Maa leaders BUT also the warring factions to ensure they’re all at peace.
Back when he was the DO in Molo, he reportedly unleashed militias to slice off the ears of Moi regime critics! A brutal method of identifying dissenters for exclusion from government services and also sending a chilling message to anyone daring to speak out.
To this day, in Molo, huko kwa Mhesh Francis Kuria Kimani , you’ll meet elderly survivors, many over 55, who bear that horror, walking around with no ears.
Sadly and unbelievably, the same man is preparing to launch a political party, Don’t Care Party, whose symbol is an ear being snatched off!
Horrifying!
