In Bathurst for a very important corroboree to commemorate the bicentenary of this day, August 14 in 1824 when martial law was imposed on the Wiradjuri people in Bathurst.
This is the first corroboree on top of Mount Panorama for many, many decades.
Here to learn about the colony-sanctioned slaughter of Aboriginal people in this area as part of what’s now known as the ‘frontier wars.’
The Wiradjuri call it the ‘homeland wars’ since it was their home.
Today’s a good day to read about what happened, learn more about our shared history. And historical truths we were never taught.
Only through truth and understanding can we heal and come together.
@TMFScottP@Peter_Fitz You old heads just have no respect for breakdancing just like the scatterbrain and this isn’t the local bingo night where you can pop around like a kangaroo, trying to pick up an old bird this was supposed to be the top stage of breakdancing,
@wendy_harmer Old heads justifying this shit just shows how little you all respect breaking we wouldn’t send a local swimming club to swim for us so why be ok with sending a non professional breaker
@wendy_harmer Eric the eel was from a small country and was part of a program to build up emerging nations, while we have had a strong breakdance culture in Australia since the 80s yet we sent this thing over just to push her own study agenda these moments can’t be compared!
@clowndownunder I dislike her!! She stole the spot from an actual young breakdancer to boost up the “studies” while not just making her a laughing stick but our entire country, when the world watched they saw all of us
