@PEoperator We built an enterprise wide Sales Ops & FP&A tool that sits on top of our invoicing data + CRM.
You can ask if any question on the business, customer, wallet share, pricing, products/suppliers, etc. It’s incredible
@TroopsinContact Both unique and have their own challenges, but can say with certainty that 07-10 Kunar or 08-11 Arghandab Valley for conventional forces are just in different a stratosphere than some SOF deployments
@STLChrisH Good businesses with engaged work forces, good customer NPS scores, good market dynamics, and a strong management team sell for more. They are incentive to support the actions that lead towards building a good business.
@STLChrisH All of those actions have positive impacts to the P&L.
A major key item that is missing from this is that a PE sponsor can’t strip a business down to the ground if they want to get “the 20” because they need to sell it to someone to get the 20.
@STLChrisH@zwilson I can’t speak the roll-ups within the HVAC (or other service businesses) but that’s been my experience within the distribution space.
And that ends my dissertation. Looking forward to hearing your take!
@STLChrisH@zwilson and training, have higher close rates and AOV, etc. If I was going to make that investment case those are the levers of value I would show within the business case. It would have a positive ROI if I was convicted in the investment - just like you did.
@STLChrisH@zwilson I think what the underlying factor is the ability for an operator to run the business and communicate and manage up to the PE sponsor. From my experience, you can’t try and be a deal guy and or have an ego that you don’t need to get your hands dirty like an entrepreneur.
