Well now...
They tell me I'm supposed to talk to you fine folks about... Artificial Intelligence. Now, I don't know a whole lot about artificial anything — everything about me's always been the genuine article.
But it got me thinkin'. See, back in the 1450s, ol' Johannes Gutenberg rolls into town with this contraption — the printin' press. And the scribes, bless their hearts, they about had a conniption. "It'll put us all outta work," they said. "Nobody'll need a steady hand and a quill ever again."
Well, pilgrim... they were right. And also dead wrong.
Turns out the printin' press didn't kill learnin' — it went and multiplied it. Suddenly a book wasn't some rare treasure locked in a monastery. Suddenly everybody could read. Universities sprouted up like tumbleweeds after rain.
Now here comes AI, ridin' into the same town, and folks are hollerin' the same holler.
But I'll tell you somethin' about a gun on a man's hip. It ain't good or bad on its own. Depends entirely on who's wearin' it, and what he aims to do with it.
Same with this AI business. In the right hands — hands like yours, hands that spent a whole career chasin' truth — well, that's not a threat, pilgrims.
That's just a new horse.
So saddle up.
