Exciting opportunity to join our growing ACP team developing and providing specialised Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) for Older People living with Frailty in a beautiful part of the country @UHD_NHS@AcuteFrailty https://t.co/bT7FhUXPYh
@jaa_adams@SECAmbulance@RoyalSurrey Really interested to see the number of frail patients that use this route in the first month. Great benchmark for us. Thanks for leading the way ☀️☀️☀️
This isn’t a criticism.
I’m getting calls from paramedics at pts homes. They’ve been there for ages trying to figure out a complex history and make a diagnosis, and they want my help.
It’s obviously not an emergency.
Is this really the best use of their time?
Calling all Frailty SDEC people. Do you take direct paramedic referrals? Does it work for you in terms of SDEC flow and capacity? Any good meaty projects out there on this?
@leanniemann@UnitFrailty Yes it’s the clinician to clinician conversations to determine the best place for the patient that seems key for all so far. Are paramedics making direct contact with you via SDEC to be part of this conversation?
@simontutt88 Agreed, particularly if that pre approved pathway involves a 3 hour wait inside an ambulance outside ED when an empty SDEC could effectively accommodate, see and treat in the time. Can crews phone SDEC en route if they feel a frail older person could safely be assessed there?
