@Fair_and_Biased Of course it is true. And Israel is the only country in the entire middle east where Christians have full civil rights and thrive. That latter is one of the major lies of the Woke Reich led by the Tuckerites.
This is what these “post liberals” do EVERY TIME: they create this false dichotomy…
Some have called this tactic “the authoritarian proposition.”
“We either solve fill in the blank political problem OR we hold on to our constitutional ideals… but we CAN’T do both.”
This is a lie from hell, guys.
Don’t fall for it.
We do not have to suspend liberty for security. If I recall, one of our Founders warned us about this very temptation…
“Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.”
— Benjamin Franklin
I just got an anti-American troll on the horseshoe end right finally admit he did not have a clue what the terms he was throwing around actually mean. I was slow and methodical and if I drove him crazy then my work was done. He was every bit ideologically captured spouting all this truly authoritarian anti-American crap as any empty-headed commie nepo baby.
As an elder myself, I totally vibe with what you say. But I have to point out the reality that I know plenty of morons who are my age peers who believe and spout the same exact lies that flow from the pierced lips of the college crowd. The indoctrination goes really deep in our society.
I do my best. Don’t think they care actually. But I’ll never stop calling them out. One thing I have learned about myself, lying actually physically hurts. And having to listen to someone else lie also hurts. Me not telling them exactly what their lie is and introducing them to reality is exhausting but absolutely necessary.
@MssrSnappy@realmikolson Thanks for demonstrating that you are a coward who knows he really doesn’t know what he is talking about. I knew that, but I wanted you to demonstrate it for all to see. Thanks, sweetie!
It is so easy for any woman who want to to actually find stylish, good quality clothing and create what is called a “capsule” wardrobe that lets you present yourself as a serious person. I don’t describe how I dress as “modest” because that brings up all sorts of religion connotations of dull and frumpy. It’s all about how you choose to present yourself to the world when you step outside of your home into public. It is a choice. Nothing more, nothing less.
@realmikolson I suspect MssrSnappy has not a clue as to what “liberalism” actually is and why the Founders built a nation on it. Like many words it has been corrupted and those that use it as a label to signal their “wisdom” are just as ideologically captured as any creature on the left.
MssrSnappy has brought out the inner schoolmarm in me. I had to teach bright young things who came from good colleges how to write proposals and things like letters to donors. And yes, I drove them crazy getting my young charges how to say what they mean because they know what they are talking about and to do it as simply and straightforwardly as possible. A few learned and went on to their own careers. But some when into something else. I may have retired 10 years ago, but I am still a stickler for precision of expression.
No, you can give me a succinct definition within the limitations of X’s character limit quite easily. You just do it in a series of tweets, each a continuation of the previous one. But if you truly know what you are talking about, you can write in within the character limitation. There. I taught you something.
I think it already has happened. I’m sure there is an example to be found. So much BS about “neurodivergence” as the latest “get out of jail free card”. I watched one video on YouTube last week about “adult diagnosed autism” by a so-called therapist who identified herself as an adult diagnosed autistic. As someone who has spend considerable time with actual autistic people at different ages (children of friends; colleagues at work; even one old acquaintance’s artist boyfriend) and having worked professionally with actual researchers/educators who were working diligently to develop treatments and strategies to help autistic kids and their families, I know a load of BS when I hear it. This woman talked mostly about “masking” and that was debunked thoroughly by that panel of autistic adults you put together a while ago. Anyway, after I watched that single video, You Tube kept putting similar videos, with the same BS, all over my “recommended’ videos. That was beyond infuriating.
Not everyone who opposes JD Vance is “controlled opposition”
Where have l heard this song and dance before again? Sounds a bit leftist.
Rejecting postliberalism does not mean wanting to drag the Right back into permanent political defeat.
I am not even saying JD Vance represents every single postliberal idea. I don’t know yet although based on posts like this it’s starting to look that way.
The postliberal Right presents the same fundamental danger as the socialist or communist Left: concentrated power justified by a different moral vision.
The Left wants the state to impose its version of equality, identity and social justice. The postliberal Right wants the state to impose its vision of virtue, morality and the common good. They disagree about what should be imposed, but they agree that the government should possess the power to impose it.
I reject the premise that the government has the right to impose anybody’s version or vision of the common good unless that vision is restrained by constitutional limits.
How is the postliberal project meaningfully different from the rest of human history? Human beings have always claimed that their vision was righteous, necessary and ordered toward the common good. Kings, revolutionaries, priests, dictators and political movements have all insisted that their version of authority was moral, benevolent and uniquely suited to the crisis of their age.
Why did all of them fail? Not because the people were inherently bad. Because human beings will always fall short of the glory of God therefore, government that is made up of human beings must be restrained because our rights don’t actually come from government they come from our creator.
I do not want the Left’s immorality imposed on me. I also do not want the Right’s preferred morality imposed on me through centralized government power.
The question is not just who governs. The question is how much authority any human being should possess over my life.
I am not interested in replacing progressive coercion with postliberal coercion. I want power limited especially when the people seeking it insist that it’s either this or we lose forever.
@RedWhiteBlueJew I read what is really in the NDAA and then listened to Marco Rubio explaining it to some stupid reporters. Have you seen this? But these nasty effers just push the latest bunch of bullshit because of these obsessive hatred of The Jooooooos!
