It was nostalgic to return to Bararget Forest Station in Nakuru County the Presidential site of the Mau Forest Complex Integrated Conservation and Livelihood Improvement Programme (MFC-ICLIP) to assess the progress of trees planted during the launch presided over by H.E. President William Samoei Ruto, with an encouraging 90% survival rate recorded.

I was honored to introduce an Italian delegation led by the Ambassador to Kenya H.E Vincenzo Del Monaco to the programme and showcase the impact of our restoration work.

Through MFC-ICLIP, we are implementing the Trees Establishment and Livelihood Improvement Scheme (TELIS), a community-driven agroforestry initiative that integrates food production with tree growing to improve livelihoods and enhance forest restoration.

We appreciate the support of Smach Foundation in providing beehives to forest-adjacent communities as a livelihood improvement initiative.

We have also partnered with Eco Rafiki Africa under the Circular Economy component to promote waste management, recycling, and green job creation for youth and women through initiatives such as #Glass4Good.

Earlier, we met H.E. Benjamin Chesire Cheboi, Governor of Baringo County, to discuss progress of the EU-supported programme and other climate action initiatives. #LindaMauBoreshaMaisha #MFC_ICLIP #EcosystemRestoration
