🌿 The Nairobi Summer School on Climate Justice @Summer_School1 is now accepting applications for #CohortV, set to take place at 🇪🇹Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia, from August 17 – August 30, 2025!

This year’s theme calls on young leaders across Africa and beyond to rise above the polycrisis — climate change, inequality, food insecurity, and ecological degradation — and become catalysts for action, advocacy, and justice in their communities.

Earlier today, a demand for transparency in the implementation of the Loss and Damage Fund and climate adaptation financing was made, emphasizing the need for stakeholders' commitments to translate into concrete actions.

Youth-led climate champions also made their voices heard under the #KeepYourPromises campaign, urging global leaders to take transformative action and uphold their commitments.
This collective advocacy effort is anchored by six key messages:

-Reinforcing Paris Agreement Principles: Amplifying the principle of Common But Differentiated Responsibilities and Respective Capabilities to drive climate action.
- Transparency and Good Governance: Advocating for rigorous transparency, accountability, and anti-corruption measures.
- Historical Responsibility and Climate Finance: Demanding developed nations meet their historical commitments and deliver predictable finance, technology, and capacity-building.
- A Robust #NCQG at #COP29: Calling for an ambitious, needs-based New Collective Quantified Goal on climate finance.
- A Comprehensive Just Transition: Promoting a broad understanding of just transition that integrates mitigation, adaptation, resilience, and financing.
- Guiding Principles for Critical Minerals: Emphasizing voluntary principles to prioritize justice, governance, and international cooperation.

This call to action demands concrete, just, and fair climate strategies that reflect equity, support, and accountability.
