Friends in and from Germany, please consider signing this statement on Germany's deplorable policy vis-à-vis the war in Gaza which is not only out of sync with Germany's professed principles, but also with public opinion.
In a word: pathetic. For how long will fear drive EU leaders to throw money at regimes hoping they’ll solve the migration issue for us? the conditions behind the 2016 EU-Turkey deal do not exist in Egypt, Tunisia or elsewhere. yet we’re at it again… https://t.co/cORY1oGBb8
Another migration deal arranged by the European far-right. Mindless "stability promotion" to the tune of EUR 7.4 bn, this time in Egypt. Seems the EU is now fully in the business of supporting autocracy in the southern neighbourhood. https://t.co/iaNJOGWl0i

The German Ministry of Culture puts out an official statement that at the award ceremony at which "No Other Land" received a prize green Minister Claudia Roth was only clapping for the Jewish-Israeli member of the filmmaking team, not the Palestinian.
I'm not making this up.

🇮🇹FM Tajani needs a stereotype update: "Let's not commit the mistake of leaving Tunisia to the Muslim Brotherhood"--as if Ennahda, not a populist strongman, was dismantling Tunisian democracy. Hope this lazy analysis is not shared by other EU leaders. https://t.co/NN01GDlxfF
@a_teti Which posture? Focus on migration control? Sure. Seeing everything through an inaccurate lens of a supposed MB threat? Not really. In fact, these three countries tried to support Tunisia while Ennahda was part of the gov’t. With a focus on (border) security, sure, but still.
@radwan_masmoudi The (far) right in Italy wants to limit migration. I just don’t think that supporting Saied is going to achieve this (given his racist outbursts), or that the boogeyman of the MB is plausible enough to scare other Europeans into supporting this strategy.
