@Tesco It’s a busy sunny Sunday, Father’s Day, and Scan as you Shop is closed in Tesco Chichester Extra, apparently they only have three colleagues on all self-serve checkouts and can’t cover it.
There’s no excuse you can make for this.

What’s with National Highways? For damaged barriers they put dangerous speed restrictions where some jam on brakes and others speed through, and leave it for months!

Why are the E1/E2 drivers so miserable this morning? One decided to drive past me as I ran for the bus, two others I say good morning to getting on, and thank you - enjoy your day when I’m getting off - all met by unintelligible murmur and a scornful face @FirstPortsmouth

Those aren’t the hours available anymore - what’s wrong with a mum driving a train 2 or 3 days per week around childcare to support their family? Or 4-hour shifts at peak periods? It’s the modern world

@kevinyeomans @PaulCliftonBBC So, parent, works 1000-1500 M-F (25 hrs pw) while FT childless driver ends up picking up more 0400 starts, 0200 finishes, unpredictable spare movement, shift related health/sleep issues. All for the same rate ph. Is that fair? The railways are not supermarkets. @TrainDriverIan1

HR professional - You need flexibility in a workforce to give customers what they want - I really don’t want to see what happened to the miners, steelworkers, British Leyland to happen to our brilliant railways, - I don’t need to drive a train to see the future @PaulCliftonBBC

This sounds like a positive move to me - it would, for example, allow parents to work around childcare part-time - supermarkets thrive on flexibility without using zero hours contracts. @PaulCliftonBBC

@dresserman I remember when we lost checkout hours when the printer was moved to customers took their own receipt - they didn’t, it took the colleague longer to reach over to the printer, so the printer was officially moved back - however the hours never came back

People are struggling with energy bills, however it’s hard to know where you are with your credit balance - for example EDF only produce a bill every 6 months - why not move to monthly billing to help? @MartinSLewis @edfenergy
