My key takeaway from my internship is that meaningful edible perrenial garden design is no easy task: it requires in-depth research into the site climate and the diets of the communities you are aiming to serve #envir491#poecap
My key takeaway from my research is that we need to expand our fungi cultivation infrastructure in the US. We could be producing nutritious food, biomaterials for construction and air filtration, and compost all from this one organism. #envir491#poecap
@lucyjtoner When I interned for a nonprofit last year, this is definitely what I learned too! Still feeling iffy on if I can make a career out of it and still pay off my student loans haha
Shoutout to @SeaNeighborhood’s community garden coordinators and p-patch director for connecting me with local community garden(ers) growing cultural culinary herbs as perrenials. I couldn’t have done it without your help! 💙💙💙 #envir491#poecap
Huge shoutout to @tilthalliance and @DannyWooGarden for giving me garden tours and providing me with valuable tips and information on growing culturally relevant culinary herbs that helped immensely to shape my plant list. #envir491#poecap
@GahaganAmelie Yes, of course! It’s really interesting— mycelium leather is one of the only mycelium based materials made from pure mycelium rather than a mycelium bio composite, mainly because lack compressive strength is not an issue when it comes to synthetic leather
