@peggy_blair So we shouldn't consider training in fraud prevention if we can't know whether training could have prevented this specific fraud? Scanning the ID using the existing tool may have stopped this, and training could have raised awareness of its use.
@peggy_blair Curious if you have thoughts on fraud prevention training, and adopting use of the tool. Why isn't fraud prevention part of the training for realtors, with refreshers as fraud trends evolve. Even I had basic fraud prevention training when working as a cashier at Zellers years ago
@glengower This is deeply disingenuous, especially coming from a councillor that opposed accountability on what turned out to be corrupt handling of the transit system.
@grahamctv It's also illegal for an employer to demand no strike as a pre-condition for bargaining, that is considered "bad faith bargaining" under the law, fwiw
Q: Will government repeal Bill28, agree to binding arbitration?
A: Folks, I am promising to 'rescind s. 33' if CUPE comes back to work
[hhhmmmm... If all they do is rescind the notwithstanding clause, that just means CUPE could bring a Charter challenge vs the imposed contract]
@grahamctv What an odd, lop-sided article, and in some areas misleading / inaccurate article. Speaking to Ottawa residents, there appears to no will to undertake actual journalism anymore, at least not at CTV.
It’s important that a critical mass speaks out at the OPSB meeting on Monday to let them know we are still paying attention. It’s been effective in the past — in 2020, OPSB committed to review how funding could be frozen/reduced after ~100 delegates spoke at a meeting on budget.
@Richard_FCi@CrimeStoppersOT@OttawaPolice Your praise for OPSB chair, while diplomatic, was highly problematic at the meeting. I can’t imagine I will ever feel safe interacting with your service.

And looking through the likes and photos, there are none with any other mayoral candidates I could find
@mirgray@rolling_enigma After 10 months of reflection, he still can’t accept an ounce of responsibility for anything that went wrong. Others made mistakes & he faced factors out of his control, but can’t he acknowledge his mistakes as person in charge? Can’t feel bad for someone so out of touch.
@meanderingemu @CurlingJeff @Yasir_Naqvi@JohnFraserOS@StephenBlais Strange times when former Goldman Sachs banker/ex-Governor of BOC/BOE is the progressive voice, and he doesn’t even have “progressive” in his Twitter bio

@grahamctv You didn’t, Graham… all the interviews with Watson during the occupation CTV just let him say his speaking points, and with this OPSB story CTV just relayed “sources” without any further analysis. You disagree, that’s fine.
@grahamctv This is what CTV reported, which doesn’t line up with Deans’ recording and the surprise walk-on motion: “Mayor Jim Watson offered Deans the chance to resign when he learned of the plan, but she refused, sources said. As a result, Watson led an effort to oust her from the board.”
