Nothing sours a shift like doing a tricky procedure (that others didn't succeed the prev 3 times) and the patient looks at me & the nurse and says 'you know, they call it the NATIONAL Health Service, but you don't see a lot of 'Nationals' working around here...' 🥲

Cigarette packet calculation; full pay restoration for NHS consultants effective cost to @hmtreasury less than £0.69b, a lower figure for junior doctors. Amount spent by Chancellor on tax cuts etc in last weeks budget was £411b. Don’t tell me we can’t afford Drs pay.
Re-ran the same search this year- FY doctors posts' in their first MONTH of the job. These are deeply concerning, as is the volume which seems to have doubled.
