Very grateful for all of my psychologist colleagues who contributed to this effort and proud to be one of many who played a role in this coming to fruition. It takes a village! And… there’s so much more to do to promote trans rights, safety, access to healthcare…🏳️⚧️

@WillBeischel lately when students want feedback on a written product (paper, poster, dissertation draft), they bring a google doc or slides to lab meeting and everyone takes a few moments to read a section and put input on the doc right on the spot - this has been fun and helpful

A year ago, a non-academic friend listened to a talk I gave. I thought it went great. My friend disagreed.
She said that academics are experts at making interesting stuff boring—and that we should all take a speech class.
So I did. And here are 6 most useful things I learned.
@DrShannaK It was worth it! For most of my career it was my most cited article. And I continue to get reprint requests and emails about it from around the world because of the high impact journal it was published in. Tough and demoralizing at the time, but worth it.
@DrShannaK Would have to dig into it to get an exact count of all of these things, but I will say that my main dissertation paper in clinical psychology had to be revised four times before it was excepted for publication.
@nadine_nakamura When my kids were little - long before COVID - we used to take a “pajama walk” around the block in our pjs to get their energy out before bedtime 😂
I'm hiring an RA to help with interviews of queer, trans, and nonbinary couples. Remote is fine. The role is ~10 hours a week and involves conducting interviews, coding data, helping with recruitment, and has opptys for pubs. Ad is below!
