New Canadian survey on attitudes to euthanasia. 27% think people should have access to euthanasia because of poverty (41% among the 18-34). 28% for homelessness, 43% for mental illness, and 50% for being disabled (60% among the 18-34).

I’ve been VERY surprised family businesses outside of Agriculture haven’t been much more vocal about the Business Property Relief (BPR) changes in the Budget.
Same problems for farms; unaffordable tax bill and bosses slamming the brakes on investment.

Utilising ‘the 7 year rule’ on a farm with an outstanding mortgage would trigger a massive SDLT liability for my family farm.
Plus my parents are divorced so no couples IHT relief either.
The level of SDLT or IHT to pay would be game over for our business.
