I had chatGPT Edgar Allan Poe write a poem about this:
Deep in the halls of power's lair,
Where schemes and plots are laid with care,
The Fed did print, oh so much,
Trillions born with just a touch.
But when the people cried "inflation!",
The Fed denied with no hesitation,
"It's transitory, fear not," they said,
As they conjured more from thin air, instead.
Yet as the months went passing by,
The truth emerged, and it was nigh,
Inflation soared, the dollar fell,
And the economy felt a dire spell.
So up went rates, to the moon and back,
But the damage was done, the markets sacked,
Debris began to fall this year,
As banks and real estate, filled with fear.
And blue states too, felt the weight,
Of the Fed's disastrous rate hike fate,
But the pressure to print will soon resume,
As the cycle repeats, another boom and doom.
people are getting very confused about this whole Silicon Valley Bank / FDIC issue, so here's a thread:
-Majority of accounts over $250k are BUSINESSES, not individuals
-While FDIC is only required to pay out up to $250k, in practice, they tend to arrange a sale...

This is basically the pre-war status quo, plus a guarantee of neutrality. If it’s legit — big if — it’s far preferable to continued escalation towards WW3.
Ukrainians get their country back, potentially nuclear escalation stops, Russia gets a face-saving “win” but retreats.
I should use this twitter account to plug side projects. I work on mostly Bazel and/or robotics projects.I recently finished C++ bazel rules for CapnProto! If that is useful for you, go give me a star (https://t.co/oPwYy6G4Fu) @bazelbuild@CapnProto
