The fares from Imphal to Guwahati have been unreasonably high for the people of Manipur whose mode of travel to outside Manipur is only by air. Even costlier than imphal to delhi or other metropolitan flights. Please review @AirIndiaX@IndiGo6E@MoCA_India
Investigation: Peace in Manipur, at Gunpoint
A proposal. Escalating conflict between Kuki-Zo and Naga people. And, how Union govt’s role & BJP’s politics is roiling Manipur.
@AnganaCk & @Robinson_Waheng report from Manipur, Nagaland, Assam & Delhi

Manipur is once again in the throes of violence — this time between the Kuki-Zo and Naga communities. Since February 7, people have been kidnapped, killed, bodies mutilated and villages burnt.
Over a month, @Robinson_Waheng and I reported from Manipur, Nagaland, Assam and Delhi. Anxieties over territorial control and illicit trade (between India and Myanmar) are at the heart of it.

@HappymonJacob it becomes more interesting when these particular victims of racism "snakecharmers" never react against "chinki_momos" label to the NE and ignore Manipur violence, happening to people of different color (not Indian enough), hiding behind "primordial ethnic clash & geopolitics".
After much reflection, I have decided to resign from my position as Director of the National Counterterrorism Center, effective today.
I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran. Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby.
It has been an honor serving under @POTUS and @DNIGabbard and leading the professionals at NCTC.
May God bless America.
#Manipur is witnessing violence again. Civilians being kidnapped, people being killed. Armed conflict ramping up. Strains between Kuki and Naga groups are bringing the state to a violent edge again.
This is subsequent to BJP cutting a deal again with some in the Kuki leaderships to claw back power in the state at the cost of a more durable social and political settlement.
BJP's political settlement, with unverified claims that the Union government will provide some kind of autonomy to Kuki Zo-dominated territories is likely to have caused the building of Kuki-Naga group strains.
Claims of identity-based homelands in Manipur have always overlapped and have required a more dexterous Union gov't to establish a 'durable disorder', as Dr Sanjib Baruah put it.
It is not the first time that a party in power in Centre has used the State's resources to bring itself to power in a northeastern state. But the current BJP as the govt and the party seems to have not found the dexterity and sagacity needed to stitch even such superficial political settlements in Manipur.
Citizens of Manipur will continue to pay the cost for this, with their lives and livelihoods, if the Union gov't does not act to arrange a political and social truce, without preconditioning it to fit BJP's political ambitions.
Mainland India's media-mounted public persons, from right and left, who had largely wrongly portrayed the conflict in Manipur earlier are now mostly silent or mealy-mouthed because the emerging 'story' does not fit the need of their politics.
I say this often. The 'story' of Manipur is the 'story' of the hypocrisy, ignorance, structural racism and callousness collectively of the State, of those in power, the powerful and the influential in mainland India's public spaces. It requires us to look more closely at how Indian democracy has dealt with and continues to deal with the region and its citizens.

The Epstein files shows among other things that Epstein was running a giant honey trap operation to blackmail powerful politicians & corporates, with CCTV cameras in his plane & residences.
It is also clear that he was very close to Israel & probably passed over the relevant videos & photos to Israel.
Israel seems to be in a position to blackmail Trump, just as Trump seems to be in a position to blackmail Modi.
Global geopolitics seems to be running on blackmail!
@jacksonhinkle What is happening in Israel right now is that people are on the streets protesting. Attacking Iran may have caused regime change in Israel.
Many of us had warned this would happen — an attack on Iran would spark a regional war. In June 2025, Iran’s controlled escalation targeted only Israel in retaliation. This time, Iran has regionalised its retaliation, with two key objectives — inflict maximum damage on the U.S. and tell the frontline allies that American protection is nonexistent or futile during wars. Look at the region now. Three U.S. aircraft are down (apparently by “friendly fire”); Kuwait and Qatar bases were hit; Kuwait embassy was hit; the UAE is using all their interception powers to shoot down projectiles; so does the Saudis; Bahrain is hit; militias in Iraq target Erbil; Hezbollah opens a new front from southern Lebanon; Israel takes impacts every day — and this is happening despite repeated American Israeli bombing of Iran.
Repeating: many of us had warned this would happen. But the war party was so confident and drunk in their own might that they would take a quick and decisive victory. Trump wanted to resuscitate something that’s dead — unipolarity. And now, he’s in a huge mess. He has to take the losses and keep fighting without clearly defined and attainable objectives.
—If the war prolongs and if Iran survives, I won’t be surprised if the Russians send resupplies to Iran.
All these cult figures and leaders regardless of communities emerged during the conflict through the assertion of ethnic identities and culture won't stand long in the tide of neoliberalism and capitalism in the form of development projects. Solidarity, gone, they, bought off.
Got my wallet today. One SBI customer of GK-2 branch found it and requested the branch's staff to find me through the details of my debit card. Couldn't thank him in person. Owed him one in person. Much gratitude to the staffs of SBI GK2 Branch. @TheOfficialSBI@OfficialSBICare

I write on Muivah’s likely visit to Somdal.
Thanks to Safiur Rehman of Ichel Express for publishing my commentary, especially after the suspected denial to publish it by a local newspaper in Imphal.

Any analysis by the progressive left eg. PUCL on Manipur violence without a much needed materialist reading of violence is ironic.
