Stop your sensational post.
Get to understand what is exotic and what is indigenous trees. This has been explained numerous times.
Eucalyptus is NOT indigenous tree. It was introduced to Kenya to help dry up wetland Nairobi and then as a source of energy.
Where Eucalyptus is grown there is zero undergrowth and no moss that holds and nurtures the soil. Have you seen birds nesting on Eucalyptus trees . I am one very happy Kenyans that for the first time we have a government that has seen the dangers of Eucalyptus. What they need to do ASAP is to dig up and uproot the horrible Eucalyptus trees and replace them with indigenous trees that can easily be sourced from Aberdares and Mt Kenya.
You enter Aberdares , Mt Kenya , Kakamega , Marsabit forest or any other indigenous forest you get that fresh air that smells of moss and healthy ecosystem with chirping birds and flowing rivers.
Karura where Eucalyptus grows is nothing but dry caked earth.
Thank you @Environment_Ke@KeForestService@HonAdenDuale for getting rid of this Eucalyptus trees in Karura. Please fast track and get the indigenous trees on site urgently.
