As far as I am aware this is what has been going on. Arsenal were interested in Fernandes / Tonali / Pablo Barrios (exclusive). When Tonali was offered to us at the end of January, it peaked everyone's interest at the club. Berta kept in contact as did City. It became clear the deal was not feasible due to Newcastle wanting £85m or even more. To further add, the agent fees are incroyable. Barrios was not available for several reasons. Fernandes is heavily involved with Jorge Mendes and it became quickly apparent that there would be a bidding war at a minimum of £85m. It has now even been stated, 'whoever pays the most can have him'.
Berta then made contact multiple times to explore the situation of Alex Scott, the interest is real and there was a feeling a potential bargain could be secured around £65m. Bournemouth began to panic while Alex Scott was out in the USA with the England pre camp and want to rush to secure a renewal for Scott with a possible release clause. Their stance currently is he is not for sale at any price.
Is it becoming apparent we have approximated budget for the midfielder? (Investing in other areas)
As for Bruno G let me clarify… Berta made contact with his camp via Kia. A loose offer below £60m was floated to Newcastle via these middle men to understand their appetite for any deal. Newcastle say he is not for sale. Kia being involved is something you must keep an eye on for reasons every Arsenal fan should be aware of. When an offer is serious, it is officially submitted to the club hence me saying Newcastle have had no contact yet from Arsenal as of 9am. Newcastle will not lose both of their midfielders, so maybe Berta tried a cheeky offer before the Tonali deal has gone through. Until a serious offer is presented or our budget changes, we wait.
Arsenal have contacted the likes of Bouaddi / Kone and others I don’t want to discuss yet but no one else is providing these step by step updates and its incredibly exhausting. Personally think Bouaddi or Bruno would be incredible.
Ceadach O'neil on the bench. I'm a big fan. Doesn’t have all the qualities to make it just yet but comes off as a real work horse. Constantly keeps trying and doesn’t give up from the little I've seen of him.
What is this bullshit? Gyokeres had a terrible touch, didn’t deal with contact well and most of his goals in portugal were started with him drifting from the left and receiving ball in space in a league where defenders aren't as fast and strong. Cavani was actually a good player.
I loved Cavani but I'm seeing some weird revisionism here
Cavani scored 138 league goals for PSG in Ligue A across 7 seasons. Averaging about 20 goals a season at a Goals per 90 rate of 0.82
Gyokeres scored 68 league goals in 2 seasons for Sporting in the Portuguese league. Averaging 34 goals a season at a Goals per 90 rate of 1.07
In terms of quality, Opta has the French Ligue at rank 5 and the Portuguese league at 7, so it doesn't seem like there's a big difference in terms of opposition quality either
So why is he being made out to be this extra-terrestrial player on this app?
🚨🔵 𝐁𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆 | Chelsea will appoint a new manager very SOON. It will not take a long time. They are now working on it. ✅
Liam Rosenior is among the contenders as he's highly rated internally, reports @FabrizioRomano.
This is without considering the high level of variance Emery's football produces. His unbeaten run with Arsenal was spooky and so was his recent one with Villa.
It doesn’t work like that but Emery has already spent more money than Arteta by the time he had that 84 point season. There's no reason Arteta wouldn’t be able to recreate a similar team at Villa minus Saka and Saliba who he inherited.
Calafiori is too good to lose his place to anybody atm. Gyokeres I don't like at all as I've mentioned multiple times but hey maybe Kai+Gabby Jesus will save us.
I wanted Kimmich as the big target summer of 2024 because I thought the easiest way we can improve our attack is by getting a fullback who can pass well and cross well. I don't think the idea has changed yet.
Love Timber. Fabulous player. But I think if we want to become a much better attacking team, we need a top quality left winger and the above mentioned rb profile.
I don't like not being confident about an Arsenal player but nothing I've seen suggests I was wrong about Gyokeres. A transfer as baffling as the Nicolas Pepe one where you wonder how the fuck did that one ever get approved.
@EmiSmithShowe@mtvmarios I also didn’t think White was good tonight contrary to the popular narrative around here. But most of the bad moments looked like communication issues over anything else, no?
I'm a big believer in football data. I think advanced football data is more reliable than the average eye test. Madueke does really well according to data and has potential to explode next season. My own eye test tells me he does a lot of things right and has been improving.
@DiedreVsdice I'm not fond of the idea of 'moments' players just working out. Not when there's this many red flags visible. He will have bad moments in the pitch during majority of the game.
I want Victor Gyokeres to be successful but he just seems so bad. Horrible touch, not a reliable outlet, awful general play as a cf and takes too many touches in the box. Screams like someone whose numbers won't translate well in the premier league.
🚨🔴⚪️ Understand Arsenal have already submitted an offer to Noni #Madueke. 23 y/o winger could leave Chelsea in the summer. Talks have started. #CFC
Madueke is one of several top profiles Arsenal are assessing for this position. Arsenal are still considering a transfer for Rodrygo should he wish to leave Real Madrid.
@SkySportDE 🏴
This interestingly discredits the Afcbell(if I got that name right). Neither Arsenal nor Partey's camp were certain about the transfer going through 2 days before the window. All that confidence was a bluff.
