FABULOUS NEWS!
The 2nd Edition of the #ReptilesofEcuador Book has been published.
The entirely new cover includes several famous animals, like Lonesome George and the Pink Iguana.
We are honored to reveal that the foreword is by the most prolific herpetologist alive. Can you guess who?
Although the first edition was published in 2024, much has transpired in these two short years.
The first edition provided a catalogue of 493 species.
Now, the list has expanded to 502 species!
This includes three new country records, but we will not spoil the surprise.
Some recently-described species have also been included, such as the Yasuní Floodplain Skink and the Slevin’s Lava-Lizard.
This edition includes new illustrations by the master Valentina Nieto, and dozens of new photos and map and text updates.
Nevertheless, not all are additions. Some species have been synonymized. Can you guess which ones?
This edition also incorporates a much anticipated, revealing, momentous even, addendum.
The hardcover version of this second edition is immediately available. However, the PDF version will be made available a few weeks later.
