Personal update: The news is already out, but starting Aug. 16 I'll be working on policy and corporate communications at AT&T. I already miss my Axios friends dearly, but I'm excited to start this next adventure.

More and more cities finding themselves on this path of more and more tech exits and IPOs.
Used to be crazy, unusual, but more and more common with the unbundling of the Valley...

Colonial Pipeline CEO Joseph Blount confirms in Senate testimony that investigators believe DarkSide hackers infiltrated the company's IT systems through a legacy VPN system "not intended to be in use."
He adds: "We are deeply sorry for the impact that this attack had."
Compared to when previous administrations nominated leaders at FTC, FCC & DOJ's Antitrust Division, Biden is behind — giving him a late start on confronting powerful companies. My column today: https://t.co/9B17ZUv2V7
If it feels like it's taking longer than previous administrations to name nominees to key tech/telecom roles, that's because it has, @khart reports https://t.co/xjfC9TWASv
It's the behavioral challenges that come along with weaning kids off of so much screen time that worry me. As a parent, the daily fights and tantrums are exhausting.
Growing evidence suggests that most of the lit tying “screen time” to reduced well-being is likely flawed, and more recent studies indicate there’s probably nothing to worry about WRT screens during COVID. https://t.co/5FARjRfHlN
@communitynets Perhaps it's the same concept but it feels less satisfying to me. I like watching live sports (men and women) to root for athletes and see human elements play out. I know there's skill involved in egames too -- Not trying to offend any egamers here!
I still do not understand the appeal of watching YouTube videos of other people playing games. Why not just play the games??? I guess this is what makes me old.
.@Axios@mikeallen leading with the kiddo #screentime battle today makes this pandemic #wfh mama feel so seen. And @khart is right, the addiction to watching Youtube videos of other kids doing things is real🤦♀️
In my column today, I admit how much screen time my kids have watched during the pandemic and talked to child psychologists about curbing it.
"It's a real crisis right now," one told me.

.@axios@khart with helpful 411 on kids and screens. GMU psychologist: "We're going to see some social skill deficits across the board." #parentingpostpandemic https://t.co/sChfcASxh5
