The fourth night of protest in downtown Indianapolis ended with IMPD officers and protesters coming together for a beautiful and peaceful moment. https://t.co/XzOVV8pM8r
@IndyMayorJoe@IMPD_Chief Where is the thanks for our IMPD officers who showed enormous restraint as they were spit at, hit with bottles and other debris, and put their lives on the line to protect our citizens, our businesses, and our city? Shame on you, @IndyMayorJoe for turning your back on them.
It's the little things. I have two friends that struggle daily to be the best they can be! I make it a point every day to greet them each morning with a smile/hug and walk them to their dismissal spot each night regardless of how the day went! #wearethekey
Q4: Connecting with your students on a personal level matters. When we share our own successes (and mistakes) with students they see us as human. Share who you are and the things that matter to you! #wearethekey
Yes! I've also found that ending my day by making one positive phone call changes my own mood! I leave the building on a positive note! :) #wearethekey
#WEaretheKEY A3: positive phone calls home! Many parents are thrilled to have good phone calls, especially if it's after working together to turn around a negative behavior.
We build relationships even while we are teaching...having students turn and talk, share their thoughts and opinions, and praising students for their thinking all lead to positive relationships! #wearethekey
A2: Collaboration leads to relationships. Great teachers design lessons that include opportunities for collaboration and conversation. How do you build this into your daily lessons? #wearethekey
Great point! We get so busy with our teaching day that we sometimes rush past our colleagues. Genuine relationships with our colleagues makes relationship building with students easier! #wearethekey
So true! And some days this is more difficult than others. Always coming back to kids and reminding them that we care about them...even when we have to correct them. #wearethekey
Love seeing familiar faces and some new ones, too! If you're here (even if you're just stalking) introduce yourself and be sure to add the #wearethekey
Formatting reminders: Use A1, A2, etc. to respond. Please respond to our fellow tweeters! Quotes, pictures are always welcome! Get ready... here comes the FUN! OH, and, don’t forget the hashtag : #WEaretheKEY!
