The world is hurting right now, there’s so many things going on. The pandemic, Black lives matter movement, & many of UCR fraternities being exposed for being racist & for sexually assaulting students We need to come together as 1 #UCR150 @rabea_qamar @MisssNallely@EddieComeaux
Im on the streets 5 hrs a day protesting. As an POC in the education department I do not understand why you arent supportin your students and their personal or collective life struggles. Cut the final let us fight your battle #ucr150#BLM @rabea_qamar @MisssNallely@EddieComeaux
@Vi_Agui@MisssNallely @rabea_qamar I also think it is sad to limit these students and label them as not being capable enough to pursue a harder major, they should not be pushed toward the "easy “ course/majors. There is more that could be done to improve graduation rates. #ucr150 @rabea_qamar @MisssNallely
The link I attached below helps further expand on the way that black male student athletes are exploited by the institutions but are not given the same academic backing in order to have them succeed without the sport. #ucr150 @rabea_qamar @MisssNallely

@MTownsend_77@MisssNallely @rabea_qamar I totally agree with you on how the NCAA contradicts itself by falsely claiming that their student athletes are first but yet don’t prioritize their education and focus on increasing the revenue created by the SA’s. @rabea_qamar @MisssNallely#Ucr150
I think it's unfair that the NCAA receives all this revenue from college sports while being hoaxed by “amateurism" and the title of a "student-athlete”. They aren’t being properly compensated and overworked for free while the NCAA gets money.
#ucr150 @rabea_qamar @MisssNallely
@LievanosYuliana@MisssNallely @rabea_qamar Totally agree with you on how much power the NCAA holds over student athletes, it is totally unfair for student athletes to have to rely on items that in the end may not even be helpful and just end up doing damage to their career. #Ucr150 @rabea_qamar @MisssNallely
I think the article I attached below gives a good insight on why this concept of having players sit out a year in order to transfer is ridiculous and antiquated, why is it so easy for coaches but nowhere near easy for student athletes?#ucr150 @rabea_qamar

@Belen20321289@MisssNallely @rabea_qamar I completely agree with you, the colleges should be more concerned about the student athletes well being and should prioritize their health without having students fear their spots. #ucr150 @rabea_qamar @MisssNallely
I think that the NCAA should require member institutions provide coaches with concussion education as it is vital for them to know the signs for the safety of the student athletes. #ucr150@MisssNallely @rabea_qamar
@Andcam01 @rabea_qamar I completely agree that they don’t make it equal and tend to favor male sports by providing more funding to male programs and facilities. They disregard women and it should be something that is more spoken about and action should be taken. #Ucr150 @rabea_qamar @MisssNallely
Title IX was developed to create inclusivity and equality between men and women in athletics however, most of the time there is no sense of equality and we see the colleges favoring male sports by providing more funding towards them instead. @rabea_qamar
@MisssNallely#Ucr150
@tiffanyi18@MisssNallely I agree that this could be a beneficial solution for college athletes as it could make them less focused on prioritizing the sport that makes them eligible for this scholarship & instead shift their focus in academics so that they both balance correctly.
#Ucr150 @rabea_qamar
I think it’s unfair for students to sign a National Letter of Intent, it completely blindsides them and end up in a one sided agreement that doesn’t benefit the students at all. It takes advantage of them. #ucr150@MisssNallely @rabea_qamar
https://t.co/eKZPN3rmaA
@DanaAkari @rabea_qamar @MisssNallely Dana looking into your tweet, I completely agree and see how Draymond Green can take such stance, as the NCAA make more than enough revenue that it would not hurt them to benefit the student athletes. #Ucr150
It's very unfair how the NCAA manages the student athletes & that they take advantage of them, it is not surprising how the NCAA profits off them and their image while students sign away their lives with nothing guaranteed for their well being. @MisssNallely @rabea_qamar #ucr150
@annjillivn @helloJuJudy @rabea_qamar @MisssNallely I completely agree with how the NCAA has been failing to provide student athletes with proper care that includes not only their physical health but mental as well. It shows how much the NCAA is lacking. #ucr150 @rabea_qamar @MisssNallely
I find it concerning how there's this constant issue between the administration of the NCAA and the athletes that consists of unequal and unjust treatment that favors the admin when the students are the one who do the real work.
#ucr150@helloJuJudy @rabea_qamar @MisssNallely
@EddieComeaux It's good to see athletes speak up for themselves, its about time the NCAA see that regardless of any of the consequences they want to deliver they're not afraid to stand up for what's right and what they deserve. It's good to see them fight for their rights. #collegeathletics
