This week, I spent several minutes looking for my phone.
Checking rooms. Lifting cushions. Retracing my steps. Questioning my competence as an adult.
The problem? I was holding it the entire time.
And that's when I realized something:
Lately, I'm physically present in a lot
you're taking.
Maybe not every moment needs to be optimized.
So this week, I'm trying something simple:
When I'm eating, I'll just eat. When I'm walking, I'll just walk.
Will I succeed every time? Probably not.
Because the moment someone says, “I cried because my laptop updated unexpectedly". You realize we’re all barely holding it together sometimes.
So if you’ve felt irrationally emotional over something small lately…
You’re probably just human. And maybe overdue for a nap.
This week, I nearly had a breakdown because my WiFi stopped working for 11 minutes. Not an hour. Not a full day. Eleven mildly inconvenient minutes.
In that short time, I:
• restarted the router like I was in surgery
• stared at blinking lights with emotional intensity
always being calm and productive. Now I think it’s simply not crying over minor inconveniences.
The truth is, most adults are just quietly collecting tiny frustrations until one random thing breaks the system.
And honestly? There’s something comforting about that.
At some point in life, I genuinely believed adults had everything figured out.
Bills? Managed.
Career? Clear direction.
Confidence? Naturally occurring.
Decision-making? Immediate and logical.
Then I became an adult and discovered something fascinating:
Everyone is just
paying attention.
And I noticed something:
Most people are improvising.
Some are just better at looking calm while doing it.
We’re all out here making decisions based on incomplete information, caffeine, vibes, and whatever motivational quote briefly repaired us that morning.
