Requiring children to choose books at a particular "level" for independent reading often denies them intellectual and social/cultural access AND the right to self-direct their reading lives. More cons than pros. #nerdybookclub

@wimpykid I think almost 50% of my 200 students are reading (re-reading) #DOWK right now & it is 100% ok with me. It a comfort book and in these times we all need this. Thank you for writing them.
