@echinoblog Specifically for Pycnopodia helianthoides, which have distinctive color & patterns for individual ID but I was curious about scaling/implementation. macro photography could be better for field ID in nutrient rich waters - just - wondering about alternatives!

Hey #sciencetwitter specifically #echinoderm nerds: does anyone know if the patterns of the pores on mandreporites are unique to the individual? i.e. could it be a unique fingerprint for mark-recapture photo ID/AI of sea stars? anybody? @echinoblog? Thanks!
