If you are a true professional, do something outside yourself to dry tears in your community, something to make life a little better for people less fortunate than you. That's what a meaningful life is.
NO,NO, NO Mr. so called President!!!
You don’t get to talk about threats when your administration has spent the last few years becoming the biggest threat to ordinary Kenyans. And this habit of calling everyone who disagrees with you “anti-development” has to stop. Kenyans have every right to question you. That’s not being against progress. That’s holding the people in power accountable.
You keep asking Kenyans to rally behind your government. For what exactly? To celebrate more taxes? More borrowing? More broken promises? Support is earned, Mr. President. It isn’t demanded. So please stop with this nonsense of blaming the opposition every time things aren’t working. You asked Kenyans to trust you with the country. The least you can do is take responsibility for what has happened under your watch.
The opposition is not responsible for the state of our economy. You are. You’ve been in charge. If businesses are struggling, if taxes have become unbearable, if millions of Kenyans are working harder than ever but getting nowhere, that’s YOUR RECORD, not theirs.
WANTAM!!
Doing business in Kenya is not for the faint-hearted.
You fight high taxes, expensive power, delayed payments, unstable policies, costly credit and endless bureaucracy—then the government still treats entrepreneurs like criminals.
Kenyan businesses do not need more speeches. We need an economy that allows us to survive, grow and create jobs.
Kenya’s business community must take political discourse far more seriously. The political class has become increasingly detached from the realities facing entrepreneurs, investors and employers.
Captains of industry and owners of capital must now rise, speak with one voice and actively shape the country’s political and economic direction. Business can no longer afford to remain silent while poor policies undermine investment, jobs and growth.

1. If you're not earning much, focus more on upgrading skills and making more money than in saving.
2. When you are making more money, save/invest aggressively in MMF, SACCO deposits, bonds, etc.
3. When you feel relatively secure, invest mostly in physical commodities, especially the ones with relatively lower ROI but with good security, eg. real estate.
4. You may take the risk of investing in businesses with high return models like perishable goods.
5. Focus on managing your investments or business, then diversify and expand as you see fit.
If you are a Kenyan student interested in the coffee industry: to be a farmer, roast coffee, market coffee, export coffee or become a barista,
Rush to Dedan Kimathi University and grab their coffee scholarships.
Coffee is among the most traded commodities globally after Oil.
Raising children with discipline is not cruelty.
It is the highest form of love.
Raising children without structure leads to:
• Adults who can't tolerate discomfort or delayed gratification
• Entitlement that nobody will accommodate
• Anxiety - because a child without boundaries has no sense of safety
Hold the standard even when they resist it.
Every morning,
You meet men crawling from prison.
Their shirts look like they were pulled from a bottle.
Their pair of trousers are worn out,
Their faces are long and sad,
Their masculine energy is fading. They walk tired, gazing into an emptiness.
These are men stuck in houses where their wives terrorize them.
They sit in these houses because they are afraid to leave.
They built nothing that belongs to them. They own nothing. Just children who have been strategically weaponized against him.
When they retire from civil service or as teachers or as employees in Indian-owned companies, they resign themselves to fate, enduring insults and mistreatment from their domineering wives.
Their only hope is to sit at the bus terminus, betting and gambling, hoping to undo their years of financial losses.
But it gets worse, they suffer hypertension, diabetes and prostate enlargement.
They become a burden to their families, and they are abandoned in the corner of the house to nurse a chronic ailment.
Their years of sacrifice get swept away by comments from their children,
"Our father spent years drinking and entertaining hoodrats. It is our mother who took us to school."
Or their wives,
"When other men were building wealth, what were you doing? I can't continue living with you."
Yet, his productive years were spent on providing for the family without fail.
Pain and agony, as he counts his last breaths.
Then, one day, the sun will rise without him.
The main door of the house will open without his cough.
His chair at the corner will wait for his warmth, but it won't come.
His legacy gets buried deep with his regrets.
Forgotten.
In the ruins of his sunk-cost fallacy.
If you are a man reading this, start building your fallback architecture now.
Remember,
You can lie down for people to walk on you, and they will still complain that you aren't flat enough.
Your independence, in old age, is your wealth.
WAKE UP!
It’s inevitable to sometimes feel inadequate, you just need the courage to pursue your vision and get better.
Every rich person has lost money.
Every smart person has felt dumb.
Every creative person has struggled mentally.
Every good person has felt guilty about who they really were.
May your stars align this new week.
Sasa ndio natoka kwa maofakado.
Today, I was training hass avocado farmers on eTIMS.
Their good export dealer had organized this crucial training for them.
If there are people who genuinely need to understand eTIMS implications, it is our great farmers.
Why?
The produce buyers simply tell them. Sishabula tuletee eTIMS invoice ndio tukulipe pesa yako.
So the farmers run to cyber and comply. But very few understand what happens next.
At the end of the year, KRA can clearly see, through eTIMS, that you sold avocados worth 1 million.
But because no one taught the farmer bookkeeping, they never ask for eTIMS invoices when buying:
• Fertilizer.
• Seedlings.
• Farm chemicals.
• Farm equipment.
• Labour.
• Transport.
Their costs remain invisible. But their sales are fully visible.
Then trouble begins.
KRA sees the 1 million in sales. But sees almost zero deductible costs.
It is almost as if the avocados fell from heaven.
So KRA treats your profit as 1 million.
Then demands about 30% income tax.
That is a whopping Kh 300,000 tax.
But the farmer does not have that kind of money. The money already went into fertilizer, workers, transport and preparing crops.
The farmer is then left in the harassing hands of KRA.
If there is one group of people that deserves intensive training on eTIMS and bookkeeping, it is our farmers.
Please enlighten the farmers in your community.
They feed us all.
A peak life advice from Alex Hormozi:
“The single greatest skill you can develop is the ability to stay in a great mood in the absence of things to be in a great mood about.”
Never hire someone because they're needy. Hire them because they can actually do the job.
Never hire someone because you know them, because they speak your mother tongue, or because you feel sorry for them.
Hire them because they can actually do the job. Hire them because they're qualified.
Sometimes compassion is beautiful. But competence saves your money, and, your business.
KRA has graduated to your tax accountant,
Courtesy of the Finance Act, 2026.
• Starting in January 2027, it is KRA that shall FIRST tell you, what income it believes you earned in 2026. And what taxes you shall therefore pay.
KRA will do this by generating a pre populated income tax return using the information it already has, such as:
• eTIMS data
• PAYE records
• Withholding tax records
• Plus any other information already in KRA systems
KRA shall then send you this pre-populated return by 31st January 2027.
Once you receive it, you have 2 MONTHS (February and March), and 2 OPTIONS. To either:
• Confirm it. If it is correct. Or,
• Reject & amend it. If KRA got the numbers wrong. And provide your own numbers together with supporting documents.
- If you make your amendments late. Or,
- You do not make any amendments at all,
KRA shall conclude that you have agreed with its assessment, and you shall pay the KRA generated tax bill.
After that, you can use the amended or confirmed return to file your taxes as follows:
• If you are a human being, file by April 30th 2027.
• If you have no flesh & blood (company, partnership, trust, etc), file by June 30th.
(Or the last day of the sixth month after your accounting year ends.)
One more critical mistake to watch.
• Do not assume KRA's numbers are always correct. The law has expressly given you the right to accept or reject the pre-populated return before filing.
Lessons:
• Proper bookkeeping is King in 2026.
• Mark the new tax timelines in your calendar.
Now, reread this slowly.
For decades, the conversation has largely centered around wealth creation. How do you build a business? How do you expand it? How do you acquire new markets, new customers and new opportunities?
Far less attention has been paid to what happens after the wealth has been created.
Men,
When life takes people away from you,
When your wife leaves,
When business fails,
Don't panic.
Don't fear emptiness.
Study the emptiness because that is where your transformation starts.

Men,
A man who overcomes lust, gluttony and greed has solved 90% of his problems.
A man's first battle is self-betrayal,
A man's first victory is self-restraint.
The man who can govern himself has the power to command success.

Nobody cares about boring investments until they look back 10 years later and realize the boring ones won.
The exciting investments — the crypto tips, the hot stocks, the 'guaranteed' platforms — tend to make stories.
The boring ones tend to make money—eg. SACCO deposits and share capital, unit trust funds, dividend stocks, etc.
Boring is underrated. Boring is reliable. Boring compounds 💯
A woman can leave.
Money can leave.
Friends can leave.
Status can leave.
But a man who knows himself can rebuild from the ruins.
Because the strongest man is not the man who never collapses.
The strongest man is the man who rises from the ruins with his soul intact.
