There is no education like adversity. The ability to face, overcome & bounce back from adversity increases the number of goals reached & the long-term benefits reaped when you make it to the other side of the battles. In addition, you enhance your resiliency to future setbacks!
Decide tonight that tomorrow will be a good day and that this week will be a good week.
Whatever happens, good or bad, you control your response, your attitude, your perspective, your effort. You get to make it a good week.
Get your mind right and your actions will follow.
Seniors: You have about 25-30 games/75-90 practices/110 days left in your HS playing career. How do you want to be remembered? As the leader who gives 100% while maintaining a great attitude? Or the player who’s lazy & whiney? Either way, you leave an impression. Make it count!
It’s very hard to execute your role on the team if you see yourself in a different role. Mental toughness is doing the right thing for the team even when it’s not in your own best interest or what you want. Always work for the role you want, but first, perfect the role you have!

Welcome to #TeamRawlings, @78jocelyn_alo!
There's a trend playing out in coaching that we need to be paying attention to.
Good coaches are quitting, preferring to walk away than put themselves and their families through the lifestyle.
Sports should be the bastion of leadership, not the industry leaders are fleeing.
👇
Talent won’t matter if it’s selfish or if it listens to everyone else besides the people in the locker room. Talent won’t matter unless it plays together. The level of talent on a team is worthless if everyone plays for themselves. If you want to WIN, it has to be about the TEAM!
You are responsible for your effort.
You are responsible for your attitude.
You are responsible for your mindset.
You are responsible for your unselfishness.
You are responsible for what kind of teammate you are.
Own what you can own.
20 yrs from now, no one will remember how many points you scored, scored a couple of touchdowns, or even if you have a school record.
What they will remember is how you treated others, teachers, the staff and the kind of person you were to your teammates, coaches, and community.
Uncoachable vs. Coachable
Uncoachable players:
-Take it personally
-Feel they’re being singled out
-Become very defensive
Coachable players:
-Open to feedback/criticism
-Want to be coached
-See it as a way to get better
“If you’re going to be a leader, You’re not going to please everybody. You've got to hold people accountable, even if you have that moment of being uncomfortable.”
~ Kobe Bryant
Don’t confuse accountability with disrespect.
If a coach is pushing you and getting onto you, it’s because they want to get the most out of you.
The greats can take it.
