@JoshShapiroPA Can you do a CROWN Act (House Bill 439) for my people? Seems like everyone and everything you petition for has nothing beneficial to people like me
@Rep_McBride The bloated government health care program needs more taxpayer debt because expenses only increase when the government involves itself in affairs that are not mandated in The Constitution.
I’ve spoken to multiple university scientists and researchers who are worried about the impact of cuts to research.
But Marc has a great point below. And you know what, let’s be honest: for most universities, the research is a hostage puppy.
Top universities TRIPLED their administrators, nearly all radicals; Yale even has more of them than it has students now. If they deeply cared about research, they could go to DC and show that they’ve cut their administrative staff in half, got rid of all the political ones, and show what else to change at DoEd so they can cut 1000 more.
They could demonstrate how they are using cuts to maintain post doc hiring, and fund key research - and I bet you this admin would laud and partner with them.
But let’s be clear: universities care more about their radical staff and ideology than they do about the actual research. They're cutting postdocs and talking about long term damage, while keeping administrators for “equity” et al. They’re totally unwilling to compromise. So, yeah, they’re going to get blown up. And the consequences for some of the most important research and talent is unfortunate - that part hurts all of us.
But we can’t keep letting them break our culture and society with their radical and illegal nonsense. It went too far.
The job of most University Presidents is to LIE to you as an alumnus and say what sounds good while covering for their conquered departments, sociologists or anthropologists or historians or supposed experts in education that won’t let in a new post doc (let alone professor) who loves America or believes in markets, and won’t ever put research and results ahead of their sick ideology.
@johncusack The working class bore the burden of the foreign expeditionary wars and the 2008 financial crisis, and all the Democrats offered was identity politics
@RBReich how much do you make? are you amenable to an audit to determine how much you really need and what can be distributed to a more deserving recipient
