This young mechanic is warning “listen before you try to work as a mechanic” hit hard.

In his story he explains how pay is now garbage, you have to start with your own $40,000 set of tools and your hours get cut. You then work on cars that are impossible to diagnose.

My late uncle Jack sold his shop 20 years ago for the exact same reason. Cars were becoming too complicated for old-school wrenchers like him. He saw it coming.

What’s happening now isn’t accidental. There’s a clear push to force every repair through the dealership. They load these cars with proprietary electrical systems, modules, and computers that require manufacturer-specific tools, software subscriptions, and certifications just to diagnose.

That barrier costs a fortune. Independent shops can’t keep up with the tool prices, the training, the locked-down diagnostics. So the mom-and-pop places that used to keep your car running for a fair price get squeezed out. Customers get funneled to the dealer where the labor rates are higher and the incentive is often to sell more work (or a new car).

This isn’t progress. It’s control of the aftermarket. Right-to-repair exists on paper in some places, but the practical reality is that modern vehicles are designed to be opaque to anyone without the factory key.

Uncle Jack saw the writing on the wall two decades ago. The kid in that TikTok is living it now. The skilled trades that built this country are being engineered out of the independent repair business, one locked module at a time.

Support the shops that still fight to stay independent. And push harder on actual right-to-repair that includes the software and tools, not just the parts.

Lol I was telling everyone this months ago. Glp1's will cause a wave of mental illness sold as a mental health cure. The interaction with dopamine receptors also affects ghrelin and leptin all of which are precursors of sex hormones. Reta basically turns you off as a human and makes you reliant on an injection to perform basic hormonal processes. If you observe someone who has been on reta for months, their mental acuity drops significantly, personality and creative thinking disappears. It also severely nukes the thyroid. I took reta for ~6 months and experienced all this first hand. I experienced such severe anhedonia that i would look at a pair of scissors and think about stabbing myself for absolutely no reason. My ability to come up with original thoughts or think fluidly became a foreign concept. I couldn't write to save my life. I haven't touched any peptides in a couple months. Two days ago i took a dose of thymosin alpha 1 and experienced the same mental reshuffling and am still feeling slightly dumb and not able to express myself clearly. I really don't think we understand what peptides are and how they interact with our system yet. Please be cautious using any of them

There is no end to this very slippery slope.

Warrantless surveillance is being hidden behind Terms of Service that almost nobody reads, and arguing that privacy and search-and-seizure protections should no longer apply simply because a corporation stores your private data through a “trusted third party” or in a foreign jurisdiction — is an extremely dangerous precedent.

We’re passing the point where “public safety” and “national security” have become a privately operated movement and information database capable of tracking millions of innocent people alongside “legitimate investigations”.

Data rights aren’t just a technology issue anymore — they’re becoming a civil rights issue.

I’ve heard the saying that “God gives his toughest battles to his toughest soldiers.” But when I see the disciples that Jesus chose and suffered for His name sake, I don’t see Him choosing the “toughest soldiers”, as I learn about men and women in the past and even today who have laid down their lives for Jesus, once again I don’t see God choosing His “toughest soldiers.” But I see a strong and mighty God choosing weak men and woman, and empowering them by His Holy Spirit to face some of the toughest battles and be used for His glory.

I once thought I was a “tough soldier” until I met Jesus, I then realized that I’m so weak without Him, and apart from Jesus I can’t do anything. I need Jesus daily. The only way that I can truly become who God wants me to be and truly do what God wants me to do, is not by my power not by my might, but only by The Spirit of The Living God. Thank you Jesus.
