Today we honour Baba Yara, one of Ghana’s greatest football icons on what would have been his birthday. ❤️

If a man doesn’t have money, I don’t have time for him. I want to marry a rich man. By inference, you cannot be rich by yourself — Pastor Mensah Otabil chides women who go after rich men

A father at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium watches the match with his two daughters, as one asks questions while the other does her homework in a heartwarming blend of family and football.
Ever since the accident, I’ve found myself sitting here every single day, replaying everything in my head. If only I had spent 10 more seconds in the gym. If only I hadn’t turned back to pump my tire. Maybe none of this would have happened. But no matter how many times I replay that day, I can’t change what happened.
Since the beginning of this year, I’ve been working so hard, planning, creating, showing up every single day, and believing in everything I was building. I genuinely felt like I was getting closer to the dreams I’ve been chasing for so long. Never in a million years did I imagine that everything would come to a sudden stop like this.
Asking for help was one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do. I’ve always wanted to work hard, build something for myself, and make something meaningful out of my life. But this experience has taught me that sometimes, no matter how hard you work, life can put you in a position where you have to depend on the kindness of others.
The love I’ve received since this happened has been overwhelming. People I’ve never met, people who know my story, friends, strangers, and even people who have very little themselves have shown up for me in ways I will never forget. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. I don’t think I’ll ever have enough words to express how much it means to me.
I also want to clear something up because I’ve seen some comments that honestly bring tears to my eyes. When I shared that help had come towards the cost of my implant, it was a huge relief and a reason to be hopeful. But the implant is only one part of the entire process. There are still other medical bills, surgery-related expenses, hospital costs, and the long, expensive road to recovery ahead of me.
getting through surgery does not mean the financial burden ends there. Recovery is another journey entirely, and right now, I’m still trying to figure out how to get through all of it.
I understand that not everyone will know the full details, and I’m not angry with anyone for having questions. But please understand that no one is trying to pull a fast one on anybody. My friends who continue to speak up and ask for support on my behalf are doing so because there is still a lot that needs to be taken care of. They have seen what I’m going through, and I’m grateful that they care enough to stand by me.
The pain is crazy. Some nights, I can barely sleep. There are moments when the reality of everything hits me so hard that I struggle to hold back my tears. Beyond the physical pain, it hurts knowing that I have so much I want to do, so much I’ve been working towards, and for now, I can only lie here and hope that I get the chance to continue.
I never wanted my problems to become everybody’s problems. But this is a very scary experience, one I’ve never had to face before, and right now, I cannot pretend that I can handle everything on my own.
If you have supported me in any way, whether through a donation, a repost, a prayer, a message, or simply checking up on me, please know that I appreciate you more than you can imagine. If you’re unable to help financially, your kindness and encouragement still mean so much to me.
I’m holding on to faith that this is not the end of my story. I pray for a successful surgery, a smooth recovery, and the strength to get back on my feet and continue the journey I started.
I’ve spent so much time working to build a future for myself. Right now, I’m just asking for a chance to get back to it.
Thank you for standing with me. ❤️
