Coming into the Chem workshop I had heard rave reviews on how energy would be dealt with. Today was the day. So good. #mimodchem16

[Daniel Kilpela @kilpela_daniel]

Maybe we could say that since a particular atom has been brought to the electron sale aisle that a purchase is likely to occur? #mimodchem16

[Daniel Kilpela @kilpela_daniel]

Working, heating and radiating vs work, heat and radiation. How we use language is SO important. #mimodchem16

[Daniel Kilpela @kilpela_daniel]

@mr_pata @peters_modeling It's SO GOOD!

[Daniel Kilpela @kilpela_daniel]

@mr_pata @peters_modeling @jim_deane @BlackPhysicists I'm glad I kept reading after I started yelling at the screen

[Daniel Kilpela @kilpela_daniel]

@JPofMCUExchange Well, for one it would help if there wasn't a hole in our stopper!

[Daniel Kilpela @kilpela_daniel]

n vs P Lab: "Should we get the air from that corner of the room as well?" Jeremiah: "I'm not sure if there's any left". #mimodchem16

[Daniel Kilpela @kilpela_daniel]

Who knew there would be so much in unit 1 WS3?! I guess I should've expected it. #mimodchem16

[Daniel Kilpela @kilpela_daniel]

@MarkSheler @JPofMCUExchange Is this you singing, Mark? And you obviously wrote it?! Love it!

[Daniel Kilpela @kilpela_daniel]

#mimodchem16 I like the theme that Gillespie seemed to bring up: What level of sophistication is appropriate at what stage?

[Daniel Kilpela @kilpela_daniel]

Interesting working out solutions to WS4. What a difference new mental models and lab experiences can make. Sense making. #mimodphysEM16

[Daniel Kilpela @kilpela_daniel]

If my students gained any real understanding from my E&M teaching in the past it was from someone else. No more faking it. #mimodphysEM16

[Daniel Kilpela @kilpela_daniel]

I'm not sure how I ever dared to drive that car... Sure glad it's in the shop now. #mimodphysEM16

[Daniel Kilpela @kilpela_daniel]

If conceptual understanding is a car then mine is now up on blocks. The wheels came off last week. Now it's the tranny. #mimodphysEM16

[Daniel Kilpela @kilpela_daniel]

I love the spirally nature of this E&M sequence. We keep refining the model and reusing evidence in new and deeper ways #mimodphysEM16

[Daniel Kilpela @kilpela_daniel]

As I should've expected, the homework was just vague enough to facilitate some great group work tmrw. Poor Mr. Piepan! #mimodphysEM16

[Daniel Kilpela @kilpela_daniel]

#mimodphysEM16 I do applaud the authors for alluding to the complexity and fuzziness of what goes on between surfaces (p587 4th paragraph)

[Daniel Kilpela @kilpela_daniel]

Winner of least helpful E&M term goes to "dipole moment". Seems like surface charges are where the magic is still at... #mimodphysEM16

[Daniel Kilpela @kilpela_daniel]

#mimodphysEM16 Every group is different but it's always the same (good). Like any good model, the facilitation addresses a variety of needs
