@WTO’s much anticipated #MC12 starts today. Ministers will engage on crucial issues for small states. In preparation, CSSO Geneva Trade Advisers were happy to organise & co-host 2 workshops for #Commonwealth Small States and Pacific SIDS members, covering key #MC12 trade issues
Today, ahead of next month's 12th @WTO Ministerial Conference (#MC12), the #CommonwealthSmallStates Office (#CSSO) began a 3-day workshop to help prepare trade officials for key negotiating issues.
Opening the meeting, the Commonwealth Deputy Secretary-General said:
A very valuable CSSO-Geneva virtual capacity-building event, discussing the Services Domestic Regulation Initiative: progress towards MC12, updating on WTO discussions and development implications, to capacitate small states as they prepare to engage for WTO MC12.
I was proud to host this activity today, discussing current negotiations on Investment Facilitation for development, its implications and investment trends in a COVID-19 landscape with small states and @unctadwif. Thanks to @ElKady_Hamed for invaluable insights.
