@Sflecce Stop speaking for parents and students. We do not support you. Instead go back to the negotiating table and actually try and offer a fair deal.
For those wondering the reasons, an obtained email from DDSB states that they have a policy to not teach culture and ceremony, and my book has too much of it. They also contend that it’s harmful to Indigenous children and families. Insulting would be putting it lightly.
The Durham District School Board has pulled The Great Bear from its libraries, and I’m shocked.
We need to be putting more books by Indigenous authors on the shelves, not taking them out.
This is an insult to teachers, librarians, and children. https://t.co/AYv1C9XcUs
Parents, #Santa and I had a call to discuss his #ChristmasEve plan, and don’t worry – he’s cleared as an essential worker in Canada.
Santa also has a special message for all the kids out there. Watch it now:
@TheSpaceGal@netflix My 7 year old daughter and I just watched the first 5 episodes. We love your show. 💕She is so excited to try all the experiments! Though I did say no to the slime pool lol. Also-rainbow horse toothpaste - it’s like you read my daughter’s mind 👏👏👏
Just so I understand - BC has the highest daily rate of infection for the pandemic, Alberta the 2nd highest rate ever, and Ontario the highest in 6 weeks - but bars and gyms stay open and schools are about to open. What am I missing? Grab your surfboard and ride the 2nd wave.
I’m hoping that @fordnation will really take care of the ‘little guy’ which means students and not bar owners. Keep drinking outdoors on patios for the next 2 months so our children can go indoors in September. Are you willing to risk children’s lives, and the economy for a pint?
I have such respect for librarians and teacher/libraries. I’m asking a favour. The next time you repost a list of ‘The 25 YA books you should read’ or whatever, remember that almost always this is 25 American books. Add some @ireadcanadian books. @kidsbookcentre@CANSCAIP@twuc
