I’m really excited I got to work with @lynnetye to launch our key values profile for Remix! There is a little heartwarming story behind how I found @keyvaluesio, met Lynne and got to work together a year later. https://t.co/ICJfJvEz1J. Remix is hiring of course!
56 years ago, my grandfather delivered
@KamalaHarris at Kaiser hospital in Oakland.
My grandfather, the first black OBGYN in Oakland, delivered the first Black, female vice president of the United States.
I wish he could be here today. #BidenHarris2020
People need to really look at the communities who delivered these miraculous victories in AZ, GA, MI, MN, etc. They are rarely a focus of traditional political investment or electoral strategy,& are often sacrificed in policy negotiations.
One “thank you” would be changing that.

Counterpoint from Bret Victor: Programming should be more humane. Make it easy for people to see what they are doing. ”Transforming flow from an invisible, ephemeral notion into a solid thing that can be studied explicitly.” This resonates more with me.
Finished the “Engineering for Equity” chapter of Software Engineering at Google — written by Demma Rodriguez and Riona MacNamara. Thinking about ways inequities in software design + tooling can limit less experienced engineers and how that impacts building representative teams.
Counterpoint from DHH: design for the experienced engineer’s comfort and delight. “Embrace magic.” Find other ways to train up less experienced engineers.
Prediction: One day I’ll have a meal with @StephenCurry30 where we’ll share stories about being underrated in tech vs being underrated in basketball. Then we’ll talk about how much our children look alike.
