During the Arab-Israeli War, Saif-ul-Azam, serving with the Royal Jordanian Air Force, displayed exceptional courage and flying skill while defending Jordanian airspace.
Flying a Hawker Hunter, Flt Lt Saif-ul-Azam intercepted attacking Israeli aircraft over Mafraq and successfully shot down an Israeli Air Force Super Mystère, damaging another during the engagement. His decisive action helped disrupt the attack and earned him Jordan's prestigious Wisam al-Istiqlal.
His achievements remain a proud chapter in the history of the Pakistan Air Force and military aviation worldwide.
