Yes it’s flawed but they’ve been paying players for years

The Tennessee / Chaz Coleman situation is probably the dumbest NIL decisions a school has made so far.
1. Chaz is talented but needs to fill out and develop. Played QB in HS
2. He showed flashes in Penn State’s non conference schedule but barely played or did anything in B1G play
3. So you’re paying over 2 mil for a guy that you already know probably won’t quite be ready to contribute at a 2 million dollar value
4. Realistically you’re looking at maybe 1 really great dominant season in 2027 then he goes to the NFL
Massive nil deals should be reserved for players that are gauranteed to be plug and play not projects.
