Phala Phala Case: Witness Reveals How Dollars Were Hidden at President Ramaphosa’s Farm
A witness in the ongoing Phala Phala trial testified about how she hid the stolen dollars at President Cyril Ramaphosa’s farm.
She explained that she was initially hesitant to leave the money in the safe, as everyone had access to the room where it was kept. The safe also contained important documents, including keys to the farm’s rooms and records for the animals bred there.
“For safety, I decided to take the money to the president’s house, which is equipped with security cameras and is considered the most secure place on the farm,” the witness said. She added that inside the house, there is a spare room that is rarely used, except during family gatherings. It was in this room that she stashed the money in the couch.
The testimony provides further insight into the controversial case involving the theft of over $580,000 in dollars from the Phala Phala farm, a matter that has dominated headlines since it emerged.
The trial continues at the Modimolle Regional Court, with the prosecution expected to call over 20 witnesses. All accused have pleaded not guilty.

Dr. Naledi Pandor (ANC Veteran):
There’s nothing worse in an organisation, or in a country, than a leader who has no solution.
We can’t be asking someone else, how do we solve this?
The people are looking to us to resolve it.
