@samsanders Capitalism and journalism are oil and water. How do you solve for that? I was a journalism major who got dissuaded from ever actually pursuing a job in a newsroom because I wanted a sustainable livelihood. It's... problematic.
@AndrewVisnovsky In retrospect, our social studies curriculum was pretty shite. Very eurocentric—with a particularly heavy emphasis on WWII. Don't remember spending *a single minute* on Latin or South America. My int'l friends have a far broader knowledge of world history & global affairs.
@AndrewVisnovsky This is such a good thing to share. People get discouraged when that number goes up, but it's all about those *long-term* trends! Nice work my dude 💪
@UniqueMazique@Forbes Nice to see someone calling out the commentary! It's been a big gripe of mine since the 2k MLB series ended in 2013. They were doing it SO much better 8 years ago.
It's such a staggering relief to know that a whole bunch of competent, principled, reality-based, hard-working people are going to go to work running the government today.
ok wait brb i’m going to grad school for a sec so i can write a thesis about how culture got to a point where i just read the words “Elizabeth Smart revealed as the Moth on The Masked Dancer”
I don’t have the words to convey how important it would be for Mitch McConnell to not be in charge of the Senate. For Americans. For democracy. For the planet.
This is why the playoffs need expanded.
If programs outside these select few could realistically tout shots at the playoffs, eventually there would be more parity amongst teams as players would go to other schools, where they could start earlier but still get a shot at a title
