Optimum and Solana Rotor both aim to make blockchains spread data faster. They break messages into smart pieces instead of sending full copies.

Yet Optimum stands out as the stronger choice for most Web3 projects.
Solana Rotor is part of Solana’s Alpenglow upgrade. It uses erasure coding and stake-weighted relays to push blocks in a single hop. This works great inside Solana and can hit very low times in their own network. But it stays locked to Solana only.

Optimum takes a smarter path with Random Linear Network Coding (RLNC) inside its mump2p protocol. Every node can remix and forward coded shards on the fly. This simple difference makes Optimum faster, more reliable, and far more flexible.

• First, Optimum works on any blockchain. Validators on Ethereum, Layer 2s, or new chains can add it with one small API call or Flexnode. Rotor only lives inside Solana. If your project is not on Solana, Rotor offers zero help.

• Second, RLNC lets every node recode data instantly. Lost packets or slow links barely slow things down because new useful shards keep flowing. Rotor relies on fixed source coding from the leader node, so it cannot adapt as well when the network gets messy.

• Third, Optimum is fully permissionless. Anyone can run a Flexnode and help speed up the network. Rotor depends on stake-weighted relays, which can favor big players and reduce true decentralization.

• Fourth, tests show Optimum cuts block propagation to around 150 milliseconds on Ethereum testnets while using less bandwidth and handling packet loss better. Rotor shines in Solana simulations, but its gains stay trapped inside one chain.

In short, for the wider decentralized internet, @get_optimum delivers more speed, more openness, and more future-proofing without locking you into one chain.
