@UberEats what the hell? Delivery drives delivered to the wrong house, is totally unreachable, and there’s no way to contact y’all/recourse beyond getting our money back? Y’all are dicks.
@RepMTG Pretty sure as president, he can spend Presidents’ Day however he wants. Like a birthday. You on the other hand, disparaging the American president on Presidents’ Day… seems pretty unAmerican to me!
@jerrysaltz Barnett Newman’s “Stations of the Cross” in DC. I’ve never seen a starker, more brutal rendering of the suffering that comes from making something holy. Those black lines dragged from nothingness in such rending strokes—some blurred, some overwhelmed, some far, some close. Fuck.
@eEqualsMCEscher@poonukulkarni24@jerrysaltz I mean it makes sense that the viewer completes it. Just like a microwave, right? It’s just a box until there’s a person to turn it on.
@poonukulkarni24@eEqualsMCEscher@jerrysaltz I always think about the good art/bad art discussion like a house. I can’t tell you whether you’ll have good/bad experiences there, but if I know enough about the medium, I can tell you whether it’s well built or not.
@wesyang@DrClaytonForre1 Proper authority at the top is needed, otherwise the system doesn't work. In other words, patriarchy results in human flourishing.
@agent_buchanan@johnbai For me, it didn’t cost anything. A good friend is an attorney, I consulted him, he sent an email on my behalf to their legal dept, and I got a check. I know not everyone’s in that position/has the resources, or that it would work every time. But I figured it was worth sharing.
@johnbai Happened to me and I talked to an attorney. Turns out, in many states, you can sue for “promissory damages,” if you, say, rent an apartment in a new city for the job.
